Hello.
I'm Bri, a Registered Nurse and Student Midwife. My journey to midwifery began during my first pregnancy back in 2015, where I was employed as a nurse at a major hospital system. Going through the motions as a patient in a busy OB/GYN office, I eventually realized that my heart was longing for something more. Something personal, that celebrated this monumental time in my life. I was introduced to a local doula who mentioned homebirth midwives and a birth suite, which I visited the next day. After interviewing a potential midwife, I switched care at 33 weeks pregnant and never looked back. I consider this to be one of the best choices that I’ve ever made for my family, and I have gone on to have all four of my children in the out of hospital and homebirth setting. Though each labor experience was unique, one thing was constant: I was always trusted, respected, and encouraged in the decisions that felt right for myself and my family. This was something wildly different than my experience in hospital obstetrical care.
Today, I am currently waiting to sit for my board certification exam through the North American Registry of Midwives, in order to become a Licensed Midwife in Wisconsin. I dream of a small, midwifery practice in which my clients feel at home in my care.
My support is based in my vast experience in allopathic (Western) and holistic health. I call upon the wisdom of the midwives before and all of the rich variety of tools that they’ve used. I welcome new ideas and perspectives. And truly - I believe, whole-heartedly, that you hold the key to a memorable and fulfilling birth, by tapping into your own intuitive strength and preparing your body, mind, and spirit during the prenatal period.
Ultimately, I dare my clients to take back the sensuality and sacredness of birth while honoring that its imprint on our lives is something truly unique and out of this world. Something worth trusting and celebrating. Through my work, I hope that all families are able to relish in the beauty that birth is and feel educated, empowered, and embraced for whatever that journey looks like. This is your invitation to take back your power. Your baby is waiting for you on the other side.
